U of T on verge of selling David Dunlop Observatory

We will soon be Observa-sorry? After Feb. 15th, the David Dunlop Observatory can legally be sold off for demolition and development of its lands. Does anyone care?

The University of Toronto doesn’t – it stands to earn $100 millions from the sale.

An architectural gem in the midst of a wonderful natural enclave in the center of Richmond Hill, and a facility that generated 19 important scientific papers on astronomy and astrophysics last year alone will soon be history.

This wonderful place, home to many birds and animals and a refuge for people, may become another urban wasteland.

This makes me extremely frustrated and angry. The University of Toronto, one of my alma maters, is demonstrating the truism that states some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
