Canadian parliament - stop quarreling and get to work

The past two years have seen a preoccupation in Canada's parliament with scandal. All parties, but particularly the Tories and Liberals, have been more interested in scoring political points than governing. The most recent issue has to do with whether the Tories offered a dying member of the house a life insurance policy in order to vote to defeat the liberals prior to the last election. Now Stephen Harper is threatening legal action for libel against the Liberal leader. Enough already. This nation has many pressing issues and the partisan concerns of the parties are not what people expect their parliamentarians to focus on. You guys are being paid to debate the important issues of his great land and get something done about poverty, aboriginal issues, environmental threats and so on. Instead of being focused on the next election, focus on what can be done today to deal with the important issues facing our people.
